Our research approach in Contract Management
Our research in the field of Contract Managementin partnership with a Professor at Centrale Supélecaims to better understand the risks risks of contract slippageto better anticipate and control them.
This approach, which is regularly appraised by experts, is based on empirical observations of projects that are complex in terms of size and organization, but also in terms of the diversity of the contracts they involve.
It is based on the observation that traditional risk management approaches, which present risks in a unitary way (in the form of tables or lists), are often static: they don't allow us to fully understand the complexity of projects, the links between "cause and effect" and the runaway mechanisms that lead to drift.
An analytical framework for better understanding contractual performance
In this context, we have developed an analytical framework to understand the factors impacting contractual performance, the interdependencies between these factors and their repercussions, with a view to better anticipation and decision-making.
The results of this research approach, based on real-life cases, tend to validate the relevance of our framework, which can be used at any stage in the life of a contract:
- Upstream of signature, to anticipate future risks that could arise during the execution phase, when impacts will be on a much larger scale
- In the execution phase, to diagnose a project's situation and prioritize action plans.
