IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and agent-based AI… these topics are multiplying and accelerating the transformation of information systems. To support the growth of our Tech 4 Business division, iQo announces the arrival of Romain Villar as a new partner. He brings more than 15 years of expertise in IT strategy consulting and enterprise architecture.
Career path, the firm’s vision, major technological challenges, and passions: an interview.
Can you tell us about your career path?
I have spent my entire career in IT strategy and enterprise architecture consulting, guided by a very clear mission: to help organizations turn their information systems into a true driver of performance and impactful transformation.
I started my career at Wavestone, where I spent four years working on enterprise architecture projects across a variety of industries. This experience allowed me to build a solid foundation in structuring information systems and aligning them with business objectives.
I then joined EY for two years, with a stronger focus on IT strategy, specializing in the financial sector—an environment with particularly high demands in terms of system robustness, security, and compliance.
I then spent eight years at Capgemini Invent, where I served as Vice President, responsible for growing the IT strategy and enterprise architecture consulting businesses. There, I worked with major clients on complex transformations involving significant strategic, organizational, and technological dimensions.
Today, I’m joining iQo with the goal of developing initiatives in IT strategy and enterprise architecture—powered by AI—within the Tech for Business division.

Why did you decide to join the iQo project?
Joining iQo is, above all, an entrepreneurial choice.
After spending my entire career at large corporations, I wanted to get involved in a project on a more human scale, where I could contribute directly to building and developing the firm. The transition from being an employee to a partner—actively involved in the company’s overall direction—was a real turning point.
It’s also an opportunity to become more agile. At iQo, we have the freedom to rethink the consulting profession, innovate in our approaches, and shape the consultant of tomorrow—an “augmented” consultant, powered by AI, capable of combining strategic expertise, a deep understanding of technology, and the ability to execute quickly.
Finally, iQo shares a very clear vision: to bridge the gap between strategy, technology, and the creation of business value—a vision that aligns perfectly with my background and beliefs.

And aside from consulting, what are your hobbies?
Sports play an important role in my life. I do a little bit of everything: boxing, running, athletic training, Hyrox, rock climbing… but always with friends. The team aspect and pushing myself to new limits are essential to me.
