What ambition for French AgriTech?
The French AgriTech is the French movement born of innovation networks across the entire bioeconomy chain. This dynamic aims to help French startups in the AgriTech and FoodTech sectors to emerge and shine at international level. It also aims to accelerate their innovations in these sectors, to contribute to the third agricultural and food revolution, while respecting mankind and the planet.
French AgriTech is thus a brand label for the French innovation ecosystem. The players in this ecosystem share a common vision and a willingness to collaborate in order to bring together, drive, acculturate, promote and raise the profile of bioeconomy innovations and startups, in France and internationally.
To make French AgriTech a concrete reality, several objectives for 2030 have been defined.
French AgriTech objectives for 2030
- In addition to the French AgriTech 30 acceleration program, to have 15% of French AgriTech start-ups in the FT120 and Next 40. Aim for at least 10 French AgriTech unicorns, having stimulated the creation of 100 new start-ups per year.
- See the emergence of 5 new French funds with over €200 million under management, with teams specializing in life sciences or industry. One fund will focus on seed-stage projects (backed by a sector-specific "AA" passbook). A French AgriTech member will sit on the fund's steering committee or board of directors.
- Participate in the creation of a European late-stage mega-fund to finance the industry's future unicorns.
- Have a tangible impact on the climate. Support the introduction of indicators to measure environmental benefits and services.
- Stimulate the deployment of over 100 French AgriTech start-up experiments. In coordination with specialized and experienced entities, including France Expérimentation, and with the support of structured financial mechanisms.
- Represent €1 billion in cumulative annual international value for the French AgriTech ecosystem, its partners and customers.
- Be present in the governance of at least 10 major agricultural, food or scientific structures, to give a voice to innovation.
