Frequently Asked Questions

ITIL® 4 is the global standard for IT service management.

It offers a structured and modern approach based on the Service Value System (SVS), the four dimensions of service management, and a set of 34 practices.

Its goal: to help organizations create value by combining governance, processes, technologies, and human capital.

ITIL® 4 improves the quality of IT services by:

  • aligning services with business needs and expected value, guided by its guiding principles.
  • standardizing key practices (Incident, Problem, Change, SLM, etc.) to ensure more reliable and responsive support.
  • establishing a culture of continuous improvement that enables us to identify and implement regular optimizations.
  • orchestrating the service value chain to effectively transform a request into value delivered to users.

At the Foundation level, we examine the objectives and purpose of 15 ITIL® 4 practices to provide a clear understanding of their role in IT service management.

Of these 15 practices, 7 are examined in detail, along with their concepts, key activities, and interactions within the Service Value System:

  1. Continual Improvement (Amélioration continue)
  2. Change Enablement (Change Management)
  3. Incident Management
  4. Problem Management
  5. Service Request Management
  6. Service Desk (Service Center)
  7. Service Level Management

The other 8 practices are discussed more briefly, focusing on their objectives and purpose:

  1. Information Security Management
  2. Relationship Management
  3. Supplier Management
  4. IT Asset Management
  5. Monitoring & Event Management (Monitoring and Event Management)
  6. Release Management (Production Release Management)
  7. Service Configuration Management
  8. Deployment Management

The ITIL® 4 Foundation exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question offers 4 possible answers, with only one correct answer.
